1. Who this agreement is with
This agreement is between you and CANtutor Tutoring & Enrichment (“CANtutor”, “we”, “us”). If you are registering a student under the age of majority, you confirm that you are that student’s parent or legal guardian and that you have the authority to accept these terms on their behalf.
2. Our services
CANtutor provides tutoring and enrichment programs for students in Grades 1–12, delivered online (live on Google Meet, with materials in Google Classroom), in person at the student’s home, or in person at partner library locations. Program details, session length, and frequency are as described on our Pricing page and confirmed at registration.
We work hard to help every student improve. We do not guarantee any particular grade, test score, admission outcome, or competition result. Academic results depend on many factors outside our control, including student engagement and attendance.
3. Registration and accuracy
You agree that the information you give us at registration is accurate and complete, and that you will tell us if it changes, particularly contact details, and any medical, accessibility, or learning need that affects how we should support your student.
A registration is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and we have confirmed a schedule with you.
4. Fees and billing
- All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and exclude HST. 13% HST is added to every payment at checkout.
- In-home sessions carry a travel fee of $1.50–$7.00 per hour, depending on the student’s location. We confirm the exact fee with you before in-home lessons begin, and it is billed separately from your program plan. Online and library sessions have no travel fee.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By enrolling you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your chosen payment method on the recurring schedule for your plan.
- Month-to-Month plans renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Annual plans are available by quote and cost up to 20% less than paying monthly. The payment schedule is set out in your quote. Annual plans already billed in four installments end automatically after the fourth payment.
- There are no hidden fees. Any change to program pricing will be communicated in advance and will not affect a billing period already paid for.
- If a payment fails, we may suspend sessions until the account is brought current.
5. Cancellation and refunds
- Month-to-Month plans may be cancelled at any time by emailing info@cantutor.ca. Cancelling stops all future payments; payments already charged are non-refundable.
- Annual plans may be cancelled at any time by emailing info@cantutor.ca. Cancelling stops all future installments; installments already charged are non-refundable, though we review case-by-case exceptions.
- Cancellation takes effect as soon as we receive your email. A request by email is required; cancelling is not automatic.
6. Attendance and rescheduling
- Please give us as much notice as possible if a student cannot attend. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule.
- Sessions missed without notice may be treated as delivered and are not automatically credited.
- If we need to cancel a session, we will reschedule it or credit it to your account.
- For in-person sessions at a library, a parent or guardian is responsible for the student’s travel to and from the location, and for supervision outside the scheduled session time.
7. Conduct
We expect students, families, and tutors to treat one another with respect. We may suspend or end a program, with a pro-rated refund of any unused prepaid sessions, where there is harassment, abuse, threatening behaviour, or conduct that makes it unsafe or unreasonable to continue.
You also agree not to misuse this website, including attempting to gain unauthorized access to any account or system, interfering with its operation, or scraping it at a volume that degrades service for others.
8. Referral program
- Referral codes are worth $20 CAD off, are valid for a single use, and expire 30 days after they are issued.
- One active referral code per email address. Codes have no cash value and cannot be transferred or combined with other offers unless we say otherwise.
- Only enter a friend’s email address if you have their permission to do so.
- We may cancel a code that we reasonably believe was obtained or used abusively.
9. Materials and intellectual property
Course materials, worksheets, problem sets, and the content of this website belong to CANtutor or to our licensors. They are provided for the personal, non-commercial use of the enrolled student. Please do not copy, resell, publish, or share them outside your household without our written permission.
10. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CANtutor’s total liability arising out of or relating to the services is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under applicable consumer protection legislation, or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and we will give registered families reasonable advance notice of any change that materially affects fees, cancellation rights, or the services provided.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, without limiting any right you may have to bring a claim in your own place of residence where the law gives you that right.
